Princess Margaret and Amrit Pal exhibition in 2022

On a historically significant date, February 9th 2022, the 20th anniversary of HRH Princess Margaret's death, we opened an Exhibition showcasing 20 artworks celebrating the iconic photograph taken in 1985 by Ken Griffiths.

Unpublished until the Princess' death, on the 9th of February 2002, when it appeared on The Sunday Telegraph's front cover, the image made a comeback in 2020, when a copy of the pillow was made for the acclaimed Netflix series The Crown.

An incredible group of 22 national and international artists has been invited to reinterpret the photograph each through a different narrative that they have carved from beneath the picture.

A book detailing the interpretation made by each artist and retracing the history of the image and its rebirth in the contemporary art world has been released and is available to purchase in our shop, together with limited-edition prints in two different sizes.
